The Lincolnshire Show - Day 2 PDF Print E-mail

Budding Rally DriversDespite the cold and chilling wind, the Comms team arrived to man the stand for Day 2 of the Lincolnshire Show.

Stuart Leyland continued to enthrall his audiences with his skills at demonstrating the Live Straw, and many a school pupil left clutching one to demonstrate at school or at home.

The rally car continued to draw the crowds.  Rob Davison and Stuart Green never tired of explaining to budding young rally drivers how the car had been adapted for its disabled driver.  However, the dream was not limited to the young and amongst those spotted in the driving seat were ADG Robin Mason and incoming District Governor Rolf Sperr!!!

Father Christmas visits the Lincolnshire ShowOnce again the Comms Team were well supported by fellow Rotarians from the District.  By the end of both days at least 70% of clubs had been represented by those on the stand and those who visited to add their support.  The feedback was both positive and supportive.  Bas will be including quotations in the next edition of the LINK but comments ranged from "this is an excellent way to promote Rotary to the public"; "its good for Rotary and its good for the show"; "Rotary is part of the Lincolnshire community and it is good to see it in the Lincolnshire community"

Perhaps one of the most poignant comments came from Rob Davison who said he had never met so many Rotarians from so many clubs and that it was great to see Rotary and Rotaract promoting alongside each other.

We achieved our aim of promoting Rotary - we changed some perceptions and we educated those who were unaware and we gained valuable feedback of what the public think.  But this was not all - we identified potential Rotarians, Rotaractors and GSE candidates.

We want to keep up the momentum and good work.  If you visited the stand and would like to share your thoughts please get in touch with us through the Contact Us link on this site.
