Stuart Leyland demonstrating the LifeStrawWe're reporting a successful first day at the Lincolnshire Show!

The Comms Team were well supported by Rotarians from the District from those who came and spent time on the stand to those who came and said hello, including some from the north bank!

Stuart Leyland from Barton upon Humber Rotary Club enthralled a never ending audience with his demonstrations of the Life Straw whilst Stuart Green from Brigg Rotary Club and Rob Davison from Scunthorpe and Brigg Rotaract delighted anyone from 10 plus who wanted to sit in the rally car.

Harry Wu's Cookery DemonstrationHarry Wu, and his assistant Bas Blackbourn, entertained a large audience including a local dignatory with his lunchtime cookery demonstration.

Meanwhile Isobel Fleming, District IT Officer, interviewed anyone who was not microphone shy - finding out what they knew about Rotary before visiting the stand and how their perception had been changed.  Some of the responses were extremely interesting and the interviews will be available by podcast on the site soon.

Valuable face to face contacts were established with the Lincolnshire Media - Lincolnshire Life, Lincolnshire Today and Lincolnshire Pride.  Full details of which will be made available soon.  Stuart Leyland was actually interviewed by one - so watch this space as they say.

From all those who visited the stand 5 people registered a positive interest in knowing more about becoming a member of Rotary, giving their contact details and location so that the PRO can identify the nearest club.  Already two clubs have been approached with the relevant individuals detailsl.

In addition, two potential Rotaract members have come forward and one potential GSE candidate.

Day 2 can only get better ......
