PresentationThe 8 Hull & East Riding Rotary Clubs sign up international support for ONE HULL Ambassadors.  A team of young people from the city who are sailing around the globe with the Clipper Race will be welcomed into the international ports of call by the local Rotarians thanks to the Hull & East Riding Rotary Clubs.   At every port ONE HULL Ambassadors will be exchanging a specially commissioned Rotary Banner with banners from the local clubs forging links with Rotarians all around the world.  The banner is to be unveiled on Monday 17 August at a special Rotary meeting where the ONE HULL Ambassadors will make a presentation to the Rotarians of their experiences to date. The Rotary Clubs are also providing £2,000 for essential specialist clothing and are liasing with their international counterparts for hospitality and friendship in their homes at the changeover ports.

As part of the world’s largest service organisation with Rotarians all over the world, the local Rotarians are ideally placedThe team to assist the ONE HULL Ambassadors to make these personal contacts.  In fact, the contact in Nova Scotia has been easy as the Race Coordinator for Cape Bretton is a Rotarian. Rotarian Project Leader, Robin Mason explains “We are delighted to be able to use our global network to help these young people not only with their mission but also to welcome them into the ports and to provide hospitality.  We all know how difficult it can be when visiting a strange place where you don’t know anyone.   This way the young people will have Rotary friends in every port long before they arrive”

Each of the 8 Rotary clubs will be working with the individual ONE HULL Ambassadors to help them make the contacts for the ports they will be visiting.
