President of the Rotary Club Of Cleethorpes Peter Roberts seen collecting a cheque for £601.77 from Margaret Wilkinson who with her group of ladies used the Lifestraw as their “April Showers” project. The group set up a couple of Collection points within the village of Holton Le Clay one was at Tim Burleys Chemist and the other at the local spar shop run by Ian Morgan (not in the picture) Along with the collection points various generous donations were received from the Church of which Chris Woaden is the Minister (seen left). The funds will go into the Lifestraw account for Rotary District 1270 and will be used to purchase Lifestraws and sent to countries that are in need of them following a natural disaster.
They are transported via Shelterbox who pack the equipment needed such as tents, cooking equipment and sleeping bags. Over the last 8 years Shelterbox has raised £27.5 million pounds of which Rotary has donated some £7.3 million pounds. If you have a group or an organisation even a school that would like to assist in our Lifestraw project please contact Steve Hilldrith on 07802229253 and one of his team will arrange to visit and demonstrate how you could help others not so fortunate as ourselves
