And they're off!The event was a great success with adults & children of all ages progressing around the 5K circuit at The Events Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground with support from The Saxilby Youth Band and commentary by Rod Whiting of BBC Radio Lincolnshire & Chris Illsley of Running Imp. The weather was good and the atmosphere, helped by roundabouts, swing boats & food stall provided by John Armitage of R & J Leisure and a Fire Engine & crew by Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue was great. Peter Howie of St John Ambulance helped by many of their volunteers provided displays of First Aid and helped with setting up the marquees and tents and marshalling the circuit.

Members of Bailgate Rotary Club supervised the car parking and traffic management together with logging in runners and distributing the Yellow Chicken Caps, T-shirts & Race Medals. Total Fitness kindly provided the Goody Bags & manned the Drinks Station & their trainer Hannah conducted the pre-run warm up. We hope to put on a bigger and better event next year once again to raise money for charity. Peter & Audrey Manton, Bas & Jan Blackbourn and two ladies from the GSE (Leila and Gilda) took part & completed the course. We should know how much we raised for the Mobile First Aid Unit for St John Ambulance in May when all the sponsorship is received.
