Following a recent visit to the Landings Restaurant with Geoff Peterson and Rolf Sperr to celebrate Mr Yeung’s MBE. I was able to bring to the attention of Eddie Lee, president of the Chinese Association our involvement with Life Straws. He showed it to the rest of his members and we are promised some input by the Chinese as they were recipients of substantial Lifestraw update aid earlier in the year.
Building on top of a superb International Students Evening we now have contacts in China Taiwan Poland India and Indonesia.Professor Daniel Khan O.B.E. visited our display and told the Leader of the Students Union this is something he wants the Institute to be involved in. Recent donations; This month from out of our Lifestraw fund we have donated £300 to Shelterbox & £300 to life box to pay for Lifestraws that get sent in the boxes. Ravendale School did us proud raising £172.20 for the cause. More cheques will be leaving shortly as soon as the treasurer gets back with the cheque book? Many thanks to all the Rotarians that have helped to get this project up and running , in particular my small but very effective committee , Ivor, Geoff P, Keith and Rolf.
