The annual Sausage Festival took place in uphill Lincoln at the weekend (Sat. 25.10.08). Brainchild of the indomitable Rtn Peter Harrold and run by one of the youngest and most energetic Rotary Clubs in D1270, the festival is attracting hundreds of visitors who are enjoying the fun, food and the experience. That night saw the sell-out Sausage Ball in the County Assembly Rooms, Lincoln, where 200 guests dined, were entertained and danced to the appropriately named Cosmic Sausages. This comedy musical group spent the day in Castle Square warming up the visitors in preparation for the ball. President of RC Lincoln Colonia, Mark Brewer, helping out on their stall and keeping an eye on proceedings, said ‘This is probably the best festival yet. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and tonight promises to be hilarious.’ Funds raised at the festival are part of a contribution by the four Lincoln clubs towards their joint hydroelectric project in Nepal.
