£21,000 for Flood damaged Ganton Special School |

 Ganton Special School was flooded to a depth of 3 feet in June 2007. The school was closed for refurbishment and repairs and the pupils and staff did not return until March 2008. During this time 130 students aged from 3 to 19 years, plus staff, had to share accommodation at 3 other schools.
The £21,000 cheque presented today is the result of funds raised through Rotary from members, friends and supporters throughout the British Isles and overseas. The "sponsoring club" for this particular project is The Rotary Club of Holderness and is typical of similar projects undertaken jointly and individually by Rotary Clubs within Hull and throughout District 1270 which covers an area North and South of the River Humber and other parts of Yorkshire.
 Because of the special needs of this school, specialist equipment is also required. The money will therefore provide I.T. Equipment (R.M. Black Box computer – Switches for computer – Special screen for computer and Integrated White Boards) a piano and specialist books.
Today, the Rotary Club of Holderness is represented by their President, Alex Holland, supported by Immediate Past President Ken Cherry (Member of District 1270 Flood Relief Committee), and Past President Brian Armstrong.
