• ALL RIBI DISTRICTS ENCOURAGED TO TRANSFER $5000 OF DDF TO THE ENDOWMENT FUND

This article comes with grateful thanks to all those who have supported this appeal from Bill Huntley’s own club, the Rotary Club of Alford & Mablethorpe, for the many contributions received from throughout the RIBI geographical area and abroad. We are so impressed that both those who remember Bill well for his outstanding dedication, compassion and humanity and those who never knew him at all have responded in such a generous manner.

The "Rotary Centres for International Studies" programme provides graduates the chance to study for a master’s level degree in conflict resolution, peace studies, international relations and other related disciplines;

Rotary Foundation have just released the latest market value of the endowment which stands at $176,000, an increase of over $52,000 since the appeal was launched a little over 12 months ago. At this time the financial product of the invested fund will continue to provide operational support to Peace Scholars and our ultimate target of $500,000 will provide a Bill Huntley Scholarship every three years in perpetuity.

RIBI President Allan Jagger has promoted our efforts throughout the 2007/08 Rotary year and he has now invited all RIBI District Governors to promote the motion at District Councils that each District should transfer $5,000 of DDF to the Bill Huntley Endowment.
