Valerie WoodOn Wednesday 6 February at the Pearson Park Hotel,assisted by Steve Bullock, President of the Rotary Club of Hull, Valerie Wood, local best selling author, presented the North Bank of the Humber Rotary Clubs’ Flood Relief cheques totalling £35,000 to 14 teachers and 30 pupils of 14 local schools for replacement of flood damaged school library books.

Representing District 1270 and other North Bank Rotary Clubs were District Assistant Governor, Robin Mason (Humberside) and Rotarian Mike Holdstock (Hull Paragon).

The cheque formed part of the Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) District 1270 Flood Relief Award

The presentation was covered by the following local media:-

  1. President Steve Bullock’s interview by Adam Wild was broadcast on BBC Radio Humberside on 6 February a.m.
  2. Author Valerie Wood and President Steve’s interviews by Wesley Mallin were broadcast by KCFM Radio on 7 February a.m.
  3. Hull Daily Mail of 7 February featured an article* & picture of President Steve, Valerie Wood and several schoolchildren recipients.
  4. Yorkshire Post of 7 February featured an article* covering the presentation.
