District Governor, John Craike, has set up a task force to deal with District 1270's flood relief efforts.  The Task Force is chaired by DGE Mohammad Ali.

The task force administers the flood relief fund and is also responsible for allocating funds to worthy projects. To date the Task Force has approved funds for a number of projects. These are mainly community based sustainable projects.

They include:

         Refurbishment of school libraries

         Repair to school play grounds

         Repairs to youth centres

Providing counselling for people affected by flood

The projects are first vetted by individual Rotary Clubs before being sent to the task force for funding. In this way, there are two levels of checks before funding is granted. Rotary Clubs are also responsible for monitoring the progress of the projects and for ensuring that the funds are properly used.

The applications for funds far exceed the amount  currently available in the flood relief trust fund. We hope to be allocated a share of the funds being raised by RIBI. We, therefore, would appreciate your donations if you decide make it. Any donations should be sent to DGE Mohammad Ali or DG John Craike.

Cheques should be made to: Rotary D1270 Flood Relief Fund.
