Hull Freedom Trail - Send Off details for Rotarians PDF Print E-mail
Written by Freya Cross (District PRO)
Monday, 08 October 2007
The Hull Freedom Trail will be leaving Hull on Freedom Day - Thursday 25th October at 6.30pm.  The send off is part of the City's Freedom Day Celebrations and it is hoped it will be well publicised with all media in attendance - we are asking all the right people but we can never guarantee it!  This is also half term so the City will be busy.
District 1270 will be using the whole day to promote Rotary and would like as many Rotarians as possible to be involved.  There are four principle ways in which Rotarian help and support would be of value:
1.  All day until an hour before send-off the Rotary vehicle will be in the central atrium of Princes Quay.  There will be Rotary promotional material and other supporting stands.  We would like Rotarians to be on hand to talk to interested people and get signatures on the anti-slavery petition.
2.  The rest of the vehicles will be in Victoria Square and from 4pm we would like Rotarians in tabbards getting the anti-slavery petition signed.
3.  Rotarians are needed for stewarding duties to clear the area for the convoy to leave.  We would like Rotarians in tabbards to line the route - our way of making sure Rotary is in the picture!  Those volunteering for this role will be required for a safety briefing with the City Council's events team.
4.  Post Send off fellowship and buffet.  This will be held in Princes Quay for a small charge of £5 per head.  Cash bar will be available.
Parking details still to be confirmed as well as the time of the stewarding briefing.  However, please can any Clubs/Rotarians who would like to assist in all or part of the day please contact Freya as soon as possible so that all final details can be sorted - it is now less than three weeks away.
Final numbers for catering will be required by 5pm on Monday 22 October.
Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you all there.
