The Old Rectory at Wroot was the venue for our first Pamper Night and was in aid of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and raised in total the amazing sum of £800! This was achieved mainly by ten therapists who donated their time and skills and worked all through the evening providing ‘mini-treatments’.
Sharon Brown’s team of seven Virgin Vie Representatives offered various treatments including facials, foot massage, hand pampering and mini-manicures. Sharon also displayed a range of Virgin Vie household goods and jewellery available to buy on the evening as well as through the ‘parties’ that were booked with her girls on that night. Barbara Brammall, Amber Sanderson (www.amberreflexology.co.uk) and Steve Tong (Rotarian) are all fully qualified holistic therapists who volunteered their services. Barbara offered back massage, Amber reflexology and Steve hand or head massage. All three worked extremely hard and have gained new devotees.
Jo and Jenny of Gift Heaven brought a huge range of jewellery and fancy goods which were displayed to great effect and earned our Pamper Night £61 in commission. Raffle prizes were kindly donated by The Willows Beauty Salon in Epworth, Amber Sanderson and Barbara Brammall. All the rest of the hard work was cheerfully undertaken by a crack team of Rotarians. A thanks to Gail and all of those who made sandwiches etc., to Vanessa, Carol, Bronwen and Clare taking money and making appointments, Wendy and Tricia on refreshments, Andrea taking coats, Beryl and Hilary selling raffle tickets, and Simon and Simon on the beer! Not forgetting Joe and his silver screen in the garden shed. A special Golden Marigolds mention must be made for Andrew Gatecliffe who was up to his elbows in suds all evening and also for Matthew Walsh who attempted and more often than not succeeded in getting people to park where we wanted them to! Many people commented that they hope we will have another Pamper Night next year, so maybe it will become an annual event. |
