Savour a unique experience for the Festive Season and enjoy the enchanting, magical atmosphere of the biggest and best display of decorated Christmas trees in the area. It will be one of the highlights of your Christmas. Why not enter your own tree, it’s all free.
Members of The Rotary Club of Scunthorpe are already planning the Third annual Festival of Christmas Trees.
Featuring around fifty fully decorated and illuminated Christmas Trees, displayed in the surroundings of a local church, the festival has become a popular and unusual feature for both the club and the town in the run up to Christmas.
Owing to its enormous success and popularity since its creation, the 2007 Festival will again be held on two consecutive weekends – December 1st and 2nd and December 8th and 9th. The Festival will be hosted by St Mark’s Methodist Church, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, and members of the church will be on hand to provide refreshments including light lunches and mince pies. Opening times are: Saturdays 10.30am to 6.00pm. On both Sundays the day begins with services at 10.30am followed by viewing of the trees until 4.00pm. All Rotarians are invited to attend. ENTRANCE TO THE FESTIVAL IS FREE
Donations are collected throughout the Festival for Lindsey Lodge Hospice. Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the weekends by different groups -- choirs and handbell ringers and on the evening of Dec 8th there will be a concert by the North Lincolnshire Community Band.
The festival is well supported by local clubs and last year there were entries from Scunthorpe Pentagon Rotary Club, Brigg & Scunthorpe Inner Wheel and Scunthorpe and Brigg Rotaract Club?????…
Why not get your club to enter its own individual tree, there is no entry fee to pay. If your club is interested or you know an organisation that would like to enter a Christmas Tree in the 2007 Festival then please contact the Festival Organisers:
