The Rotary Club of Kew Gardens recently received an appeal from Rotary District 1270, based in North and South Yorkshire, asking for assistance following the serious flooding in their area.
Chairman of the Club’s Community & Vocational Services Committee asked the Club to approve an urgent donation to the fund, and President Richard Ward duly presented a cheque for £250 to Chris Langley at the Club’s meeting on Wednesday 22nd August. President Richard said the whole Club had been horrified at the scenes of devastation that we had witnessed in South Yorkshire following the flooding, and that the Club was delighted to be able to make a contribution to help Rotary District 1270 with their work in the area. President Richard congratulated all of the Rotarians in District 1270 for their prompt action to help their local community.
