On Sunday, 24 June Hull Paragon and guests from the Rotary Clubs of Hull Kingston, Goole, South Cave & Wolds, Scunthorpe and Epworth & Isle of Axholme celebrated the club's 13th Charter at Rowley Manor in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
As in previous few years, the Charter was celebrated with a family sunday lunch - a four course meal with the second course being traditional yorkshire pudding and onion gravy on its own. District Governor, Rolf was accompanied by Pat for this very informal of occasions. The picture shows Rolf giving a very small speech in which he congratulated Hull Paragon on their achievements for the year. He was also delighted to announce that the District had succeeded in raising enough funds to sending off a full container of wheelchairs and that sufficient funds had been raised for the District to sponsor one of the vehicles on the Hull Freedom Trail. Rolf advised that the vehicle was outside the front door and invited everyone to go and see it. Rolf finished by presenting founder member, Mike Holdstock with a certificate acknowledging Mike's dedication to Rotary Foundation. Mike is already a Paul Harris Fellow. In the picture Rolf is showing Mike the details on the Rotary Globe Paperweight which was also part of the presentation.
