PresentationThe President of the Rotary Club of Humberside, Doug McLaren, has presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Godfrey Robinson Home at North Ferriby.  The Home provides residential care for the younger physically disabled.

It was Doug's chosen charity for his presidential year and the money was raised at four events - a Burns Night; a putting competion; an Am/Am golf tournament and from collections at a Christmas carol service.

The cheque was handed over to Amanda Short, manager of the Home at the Club's weekly meeting - a lunch with the ladies event to which members wives had been invited.

Doug said: "I was aware of the Home mainly because one of our members, Ian Macfarlane, spends one evening each week driving a bus there so residents are able to get out.

"I wanted to support a local charity during my year of office and I was more than happy to support this one. I knew that all the money that was raised would be put to good use and not swallowed up in administration.  I have said they can use it exactly as they wish".
