standThe First Day at the Lincolnshire Show was very successful with visitors being drawn to the stand by the Hull Freedom Trail vehicle.

International projects were the theme of this year's stand with Shelter Box, Aquabox, Freeplay Radio, Lifestraw and the Wheelchair Foundation displays.

The first picture shows visitors hearing about the Hull Freedom Trail from two of the young Trailblazers - Ian and Bekka wBusy standhilst Bas is adjusting his stand and fellow rotarians from Grimsby Havelok are enjoying fellowship.

There is no doubt that  hospitality area was a well received addition to the stand this year providing a resting point for fellow Rotarians from Stowmarket and as far south as District 1110, with many coming from our neighbouring District 1070 including their ADG and of course our own District - 1270. Fairtrade tea and coffee had been donated so all donations receivedradio were for the Bill Huntley Memorial Fund.

In between talking to visitors about the Hull Freedom Trail, the young Trailblazers learnt about Rotary International and its projects.  In the second picture, Rob from Rotaract is explaining about Freeplay Radio - it is hoped to provide one radio for each vehicle.

webbThe quote of the day had to come from young George, aged 5 and a half.  When talking to his younger cousin who was sat in the drivers seat he was heard to say "don't ask the lady anything about the car - ladies don't know about cars because they don't have driving licences!".....  out of the mouths of babes and sucklings!

A close second has to be when an older Rotarian asked Freya if she was a Rotaractor!

The Comms Team were well supported by Rotarians from other clubs and at the end of the day 3 enquiries had been received from potential members, 2 potentially significant sponsors for the Hull Freedom Trail and interviews for the Lincolnshire Echo.

At the end of the day members of the Comms Team could be seen taking part in the activities on other stands such as traditional American backwoodsman crafts!
