When visiting this site as a non-Rotarian you may ask yourself, 'What is Group Study Exchange?' It is to some an outdate title for a very modern programme that offers a unique opportunity for a team of young business professionals to visit another country and live and work with Rotarians and their families. The Group Study Exchange (GSE) programme makes it possible for a selected few to experience at first hand the internationality of the Rotary movement and put into practice the ideals of understanding and goodwill as well as studying their own vocation in a foreign country. Those selected, usually four, will be young business professionals who have been with their current employer for at least two years and have been recommended by one of the Rotary Clubs within the District as being ideal candidates to travel abroad and broaden their horizons. Selection is by interview for both the Team Leader - a Rotarian and the Team members who cannot be Rotarians or related to a Rotarian. Team members also need the support of their employee. The cost of travel and accommodation for one month is covered by Rotary International. The Objectives of the GSE: The Rotary Foundation Group Study Exchange Programme is a unique educational experience for young business and professional persons designed to advance international understanding and goodwill through an extensive and rigorous programme of international travel and participatory activities through: Vocational activities which provide opportunities to observe vocations as practised in another country. Cultural Experiences which allow participants to study another country, its people and institutions.{}
