Image We are now planning our second annual Festival of Christmas Trees.  The Festival will be hosted once again by St Mark’s Methodist Church, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe.

Owing to its enormous success and popularity when held for the first time in December 2005, the Festival will this year be held on two consecutive weekends – December 9th & 10th and December 16th & 17th.

Opening times are: Saturdays 10.30am to 6.00pm.  The Sundays commence with services at 10.30am followed by viewing of the trees until 4.00pm.

There will be a special Carol Service on the morning of Sunday 10th December attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of North Lincolnshire, Councillor and Mrs Harold Osborne and by the District Governor of Rotary District 1270 and his wife – Rtn & Mrs Rolf Sperr.

Entrance to the festival is free -- donations are collected throughout the Festival however for Lindsey Lodge Hospice.

Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the weekends by nine different groups -- choirs and handbell ringers.

Last year we had over 30 individually decorated trees representing a wide range of local organisations, businesses and churches.  This year the target is to have over 40!

Already, the Festival has the "Family of Rotary" feel about it with entries from Scunthorpe Pentagon Rotary Club, Brigg & Scunthorpe Inner Wheel and Brigg Rotaract Club.

If you or your organisation would like to enter a Christmas Tree in the 2006 Festival (there is no fee for doing so) then please contact the Festival Organisers: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Applications should be submitted by med November.
