The Rotary Club of Hull is coordinating a project with the Rotary Club of Sophia Center, Bulgaria (District 2480) that aims to put computers into all the High Schools in Bulgaria. Since 2003 computers have been installed in 200 educational establishments. These computers are for training and educating young people, ready for work, The Bulgarian Ministry of Education has written IT into the curriculum, the local Education Authority is paying for installation, local Rotaractors ar helping to train teachers and students and individual local businessmen are paying for other expenses. ALL THEY NEED ARE THE COMPUTERS They desperately need machines, in working order, any Pentium is fine but the higher the specification the better. They also welcome peripheral equipment such as printers and scanners. ALL donated computers will be checked by the Refurbit organisation. They guarantee that all hard drives will be cleared and computers are ready to use. HOW YOUR CLUB CAN HELP Please ask the Rotarians in YOUR Club if they have computer equipment they no longer use. Many companies ‘outgrow’ their equipment or change it for the latest model! They will often donate outgrown but useful computers to charity. Please contact companies in YOUR area to locate such equipment. Many thanks for your help. The children will bless you.
Please contact Steve Bullock Rotary Club of Hull or your local ADG..
