This is a national competition designed to allow competitors to demonstrate their skills in menu and budget planning, sourcing and purchasing ingredients, hygenically cooking and serving a healthy two or three course meal. The competition generally begins with a Rotary Club organising a competition at its local school. The emphasis being on the preparation of a 2 course healthy meal as economically as possible. The winners of the Club competition progress to a District Competition, then via a Regional Competition to the RIBI Final of Rotary Young Chef. At the Regional Final and the RIBI Final the students will be asked to cook a 3 course healthy meal for two people costing no more than £14 (€21). |
