The President, Tom Hogg, visits the St John Ambulance, Brigg Cadet Division, to present the volunteers with a cheque to help with the cost of kit and equipment for their new division which only started in March 2007.
Their Cadet Leader Simon Readhead accompanied by his wife, Alison is seen receiving the cheque. Simon said, "St John Ambulance is the UK’s leading first aid charity. We believe that everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them and that no one should suffer for a lack of trained first-aiders. We have over 44,000 volunteers who are committed to training, caring and saving lives and we are one of the country’s largest youth organisations." He went on to thank Brigg Rotary for their generous and welcome financial support. |

The newly formed Doncaster Rotaract Club meets at the Salutation Hotel, in South Parade, Doncaster. The group has already had two very lively evenings based at the Salutation on 30th April and 14th May. Additionally, a group of eight of the members spent an enjoyable, fun evening bowling with members of the Scunthorpe Club. Ken Waight (Rotary Club of Doncaster St George’s) and Angela Hartley (Rotary Club of Doncaster St Leger) with tremendous support and advice from Rob Davison (District Rotaract Chairman) met on several occasions before 30th April. They have attended the first two Rotaract meetings and remain available to support the new members. The initial committee was formed at the 14th May meeting and many ideas for social events were discussed and are being organised. Meetings are now planned for the first and third Monday evenings in each month with the next meeting of the new club, again at the Salutation, on Monday 4th June – 7.30 for 8.00pm.
