More than 30 senior citizens have enjoyed an evening out thanks to the Rotary Club of Humberside. The weather was warm and sunny as a dozen Rotarians picked up residents from the Lees Rest Homes, Trinity House and Swanland House and went for a trip out into the country.
Everyone then met up at the North Ferriby Village Hall for the second part of the evening - sandwiches and cakes followed by entertainment. The event was co-ordinated by Rotarian Rev John Walker, who lead the singing of well known old time songs before showing off his skills as a bingo caller. What has been established as an annual event was enjoyed by all the residents, who said they're already looking forward to next year. |

On Friday 11 May Hull Paragon hosted a Casino Royale evening at The Country Park Inn, Hessle. As you can see from the picture, President Ron arrived in style and with such panache!

Over 80 guests arrived in true Bond style, there was even the white cat! They wined and dined to excellent music provided by Steve Massam visiting the casino tables in order to see who could win the most money. The evening was a tremendous success with over £1200 raised for the Presidents Charity, Cancer Research. |

The President, Tom Hogg, visits the St John Ambulance, Brigg Cadet Division, to present the volunteers with a cheque to help with the cost of kit and equipment for their new division which only started in March 2007.
Their Cadet Leader Simon Readhead accompanied by his wife, Alison is seen receiving the cheque. Simon said, "St John Ambulance is the UK’s leading first aid charity. We believe that everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them and that no one should suffer for a lack of trained first-aiders. We have over 44,000 volunteers who are committed to training, caring and saving lives and we are one of the country’s largest youth organisations." He went on to thank Brigg Rotary for their generous and welcome financial support. |
