On Saturday, 6th June, members of the Barton Youth Centre braved the winds to link the two Humber Bridge Towers with a long paper chain to raise funds to send Rotary Lifestraws to a remote area in Colombia.
The members of the youth club wanted to thank the Rotary Club of Barton Upon Humber for their trip to Eden Camp which could not have taken place without their financial support. Project Youth Worker, Pat Sutch explained “Barton Rotary Club has always helped the Barton Youth Centre by giving money for special events and trips that we have done. Every year we do something for charity so this year we thought we would return the favour and help to do something for them” Members of the Rotary Club of Barton Upon Humber visited the Youth Club to talk about Lifestraws and how they help to save the lives of people in areas where there is little or no clean drinking water. They were inspired by the fact that many of those who die are children and wanted to help. |
