RC Cleethorpes - Shelter Boxes for Burma |

 A member of RC Cleethorpes, Steve Hilldrith together with the club's International chairman, Ivor Appleton has started a collection for ShelterBoxes for the situation in Burma. RC Grimsby and RC Scunthorpe Pentagon are on board and they will be getting into the local media with appeals to the public, companies etc for donations to be sent to Peter Roberts of the Rotary Club Of Cleethorpes.
If any Rotary club in district wants to get involved please contact Steve. Obviously some clubs will be donating direct to ShelterBox, who seem to be the ones  with the ability to get the aid delivered.
If there are any clubs donating or collecting smaller amounts they are welcome to send the donation to the above, cheques payable to "The Rotary Club of Cleethorpes". If anyone wants to get more actively involved as a multi-club reaction to the disaster, please ask them also to contact Steve. Rotary Premier of Hull Freedom Trail |

 By kind permission of Rtns Denise and Gerald Parkes, the Comms Committee are inviting all District 1270 Rotarians, Family and Friends to an exclusive preview of the documentary of the Hull Freedom Trail on Monday 9th June, 7pm for 7.45pm prompt at The Parkway Cinema, Cleethorpes
Proceeds from this exclusive event will be to provide essential equipment for one of the poorest schools in Freetown. This school was a recipient of one of the Freedom Trail Vehicles. The founder of the school, Rita Edmond w ill be attending. Cameraman director, Claudio Von Planta has confirmed that he will be in attendance provided he is not called away on assignment and he will be more than happy to sign the book. Guests will also be able to purchase DVD's. Tickets will be £10 including a glass of wine and nibbles. All tickets must be booked directly with Parkway Cinemas. The Colombian Team's visit to Hull |

 The Colombian GSE team visit to District 1270 brought them to Hull on Thursday 1st May. Among the many visits they took whilst staying with their hosts from the Rotary Clubs of Hull, Humberside and Hull Kingston was a morning at The Deep.
The team along with their hosts arrived at 10.30am for an hour and half amongst the aquaria and interactives that tell the story of the oceans. The team leader Alonso said that he enjoyed it more than Seaworld.  During their visit they were fortunate enough to see divers in the North Sea tank feeding the Bullhuss by hand and cleaning the tanks. Their visit also coincided with a showing of the 4-d shark show which they very much enjoyed. They particularly had fun on the interactive mat in the Discovery Corner, near the main lagoon tank where as you can see from the picture they joined a party of local school children in jumping on the mat to see how the fish swam away. |
